Hello to all.

My name is Anton Ragouline and im a web developer since 1998. I make sites, shops, apps, integrations, APIs etc. It is not easy job, full of specific troubles and workarounds, but I regretted my choice, if I remember right, not more than six times in last 21 years.

Another thing you should know about me: my two most popular ways of entertainment are RPGs and roguelikes. Starting with Diablo and Ultima Online and all the way to Pillars of Eternity and Tales of Maj’eyal. Roleplaying games are for their stories, which I write with the game, roguelikes on the other hand are for challenge.

These two things brought me to you, and since you are reading this, you and I are alike, as minimum, in our interests.

And I didn’t come completely empty-handed. This blog is the first (hopefully not the last) resource where you can find information about how the development of one very interesting project on the combination of the MMORPG and Roguelike genres takes place. I am not doing this alone, my wife and several of my friends help me.

So, Null Mirror. What it is (and why it is called an online roguelike) is described in great detail in the section “About”. And in a nutshell, to interest you, I will say:

  • Online roguelike with the death of characters
  • Your own base for adventures
  • Many worlds to explore
  • Unique setting
  • Game client is any browser (well, almost any)

From the point of view of the plot, we are dealing with a story that is at the same time as old as the world and completely new, since it completely consists of our (Netfinity Games) view of the fantasy genre. There will be a global enemy, and local “village” problems – at what level are you more interested, play that one.

Technologically, the game is one server for all players, so that no one will lose their friends. The client of the game is the browser, and therefore, you can play in any place where there is a computer and the Internet – no installations and updates of the client for half an hour. Everything is written in web-based languages (and therefore I hope some of you will join me in the future).

If interested, then follow the updates. They will appear weekly and be broadcast to all the popular habitats of fans of such games that I can find, for example, Roguelikes subreddit.

And the most important thing. Without you, the players, I definitely can not complete this project. I need your every opinion. Online roguelikes in general is a very unexplored area, so join us, let’s find out what lies ahead for us!
